Why can’t the maples be happy in their shade?

It’s always interesting to play this song to people and ask them what they think it’s about – and what they make of the very end of the lyrics. 🙂

 
There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas…
